Antique QUARTERED BLOCK Kerosene Oil Stand Lamp Drip Catcher 1890s by Duncan
This is an elegant "Quartered Block" oil or kerosene stand lamp, made by Duncan's Sons & Co., Washington, PA, in the late 1800s.
It is made of smooth and heavy, high-quality glass with a wide base and spill guard top rim. Features 8 panels with a large block at the top under which are 4 smaller "quartered" blocks. Documented in Thuro, book 1, pages 298–299.
Very nice used and useable antique condition with no chips or cracks. Base shows rubbing from age and use, as expected.
Approximate measurements: 8 1/8" high to top of brass collar, 4 5/8" diameter base, 7/8" collar threading for no. 1 burner.
