Figural Whippet Sculpture Candle Holder Art Nouveau Candlestick Bronze

English Bronse Whippet or Greyhound dog sculpture at base of candlestick. It has a patinated surface, depicting a reclining whippet / greyhound dog on a rectangular-form plinth. Attached to a corner is a heavy acanthus leaf candle holder, single socket, with a foliage-adorned bobeche as well as a foliage-adorned prism ring. The underside of the plinth is cast iron weighted.

Please note that there is a lovely reticulated prism ring, pierced for crystals. This will be an outstanding focal point. It is a fantastic find, dated to the second quarter 19th century. 

Measurements 7 3/8" overall height, 2 5/8" x 7 3/4" overall 

It is in very good overall condition with some expected wear from age and use; underside with some losses to the cast-iron, primarily at the corners.

The candle holder arm is removeable for shipping (as shown in pic), and we will do that to assure it arrives with you safely.
