Free Blown Glass Whale Oil Lamp with Cut Font for Cork Burner

This is an exquisite free-blown colorless glass whale oil lamp from the 19th century. The ball-form font features a delicate cut band of ovals at the medial, supported by a baluster-form stem with cut panels and a circular foot.

The bladed wafer construction includes a drip-catcher feature. Rough pontil mark visible on underside.

Excellent condition with minor wear consistent with age. Interior base has very slight residue. Stem bottom displays as-made dark inclusions. 

Measurements: 8 3/8" H to collar, 3 1/2" D foot.
